In two weeks, I will be turning 26 years old. Age is nothing but a number and I will admit, I sometimes still feel like a teenager trying to figure things out. This includes how to take care of my skin.
While I struggled with a bit of acne as a teen, (seeing old pictures of myself shocks me sometimes) and it still affects me here and there, I have to also keep in mind that as I age, so does my skin. Does that mean I am freaking out and buying every anti-aging cream I can find? No. It does mean, that the routine I used as a teen may not be beneficial to my skin now. This is why, when BzzAgent sent me Olay’s Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream to try for free, I was interested in seeing what benefits it would offer.
As I mentioned in my review of the Pantene Airspray they also sent me, I have become more aware of the ingredients in the products I use ever since becoming pregnant. For example, I stopped using salicylic acid (with the exception of a once a week face mask) and I honestly, barely put any make-up on my face anymore. That’s why I was unsure as to whether or not this product would be safe to use, since many of the ingredients in anti-aging products are not safe to use while pregnant. However after checking online, I felt that the minimal amount I would be using was safe. I do know that keeping my face moisturized and using sunscreen is always important which is why I am very glad that this is SPF 30. Plus, while a few of the ingredients still contain alcohol, the very first ingredient listed is water- what else is better for hydration, right? Along with the B3 Vitamins, Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E- you can feel quite good about putting it on your skin.
“Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is Olay’s #1 moisturizer, now featuring SPF 30. This new anti-aging formula visibly reduces wrinkles starting day 1 by hydrating skin, targeting fine lines and wrinkles and protecting skin from the damaging effects of the sun with new SPF 30 protection.”
When I talked about this product with my friends, one of them (whose skin is very fair) said that it worked wonders as a moisturizer but did not work well as a sunscreen since she is so pale. I am quite fair skinned myself, so I am glad to have been given this information beforehand.
Well, after using it for one week, I must say that I do like this product. I had heard numerous things about the smell being overpowering to the point where people didn’t want to use it, but I did not feel that way. I actually quite like the smell- there is a hint of a sunscreen smell but I enjoy it.
The texture is nice and light and is absorbed quite quickly. I always put it on in the morning after my shower so the moisturizer would really hydrate my skin and it felt amazing. While I don’t have many fine lines for me to monitor yet, my skin did feel more plump and hydrated. As for the SPF 30- it was the perfect amount of coverage to keep me safe during the short walks I took throughout the week. If I was going out for a longer amount of time I would probably take other precautions but it is perfect for every day wear and protection.
Overall, would I recommend this product? Yes. It does not seem as extreme as other anti-aging products and it feels great to use.
