Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) had announced their plans for a major expansion project back in December of 2012. This project will cost approximately $270 Million. In order to complete parts of this expansion, the land that is leased by the airport authority will be needed. This includes the land that holds the Dorval Municipal Golf Course and Legion Branch #245.
The Airport Authority has provided the Legion a new site East of Sources Boulevard which the Legion will be able to lease for 1 dollar each year for the next 40 years. While they are also providing $300,000 for the legion to put toward a new building, the complete expenses will surpass that by $200,000. The $40 contributed yearly by the 190 members, takes care of a few of the fees but it is far from enough to make a new home for this beneficial organization.
This is why the Legion is asking for our help.
If you are a contractor, or know of one that is willing to volunteer their services, please contact the legion. There will also be numerous fundraising events.
On August 22nd, they will be hosting a Garage Sale at 9 AM and tables are $20.
On August 29th, there will be a Darts Tournament, registration begins at 5 PM for a 6 PM start and for teams of three, it costs $30.
